Dexter's BACK!

FINALLY! Dexter has returned to my life, and it was glorious (Spoilers ahead.)

So, after a long wait, Dexter Morgan is back avenging the innocent and managing his double life. First, I have to admit that for a long time, I've been expecting the end of Dexter. Many of the seasons after the Ice Truck killer have been less than groundbreaking, but I expect big things from season 7. Debra has finally caught Dexter in the act, as we saw in last season's cliff hanger, and she is now noticing many of the similarities between her own experience being saran wrapped to a table by Dexter's estranged older brother Brian (Ice Truck Killer). As the premiere episode continues, she begins to unearth Dexter's true identity. While she struggles with Dexter's actions, things begin going wrong in Miami; a top detective gets gunned down by some communist, LaGuerta discovers one of Dexter's "trophies" in the Doomsday Killer's crime scene, and Batista's little sister's boyfriend becomes vindictive towards Dexter; cancelling his credit cards, for whatever reason.

At the end of the episode Debra, still struggling with seeing Dexter serial killing Travis (The Doomsday Killer), calls Dexter but he's nowhere to be found. When she asks Jamie where he is, she answers "Working late." This is a red flag for Debra because she had recently left work where Masuka told her Dexter left early after promising to arrive early the following morning.

(RIDICULOUSLY SERIOUS SPOILER)

When Dexter arrives home from killing and disposing of the commie that killed Detective Anderson, he finds his apartment trashed with Debra sitting on his couch; killing tools, "trophy" slides, and gun spread on the table in front of her. She asks "Are you a serial killer?" ...he answers "Yes."  BAM! Credits.

I fell in love with Dexter again. Such a fantastic episode. The feeling I had in the first season is definitely back in full force. The best part was the fact that Showtime decided to edit for curse words and upload the first episode, in its entirety, to YouTube. I don't have Showtime yet, so YouTube was my saving grace. I absolutely can not wait for next week.
