Comics Do Good Things Hilariously!

I've been a fan of Flight of the Conchords since their HBO special in 2005ish. If you don't know who they are, you can find tons of videos on youtube, but just for the sake of keeping you interested in reading the rest of this post, they are a comedic duo, that plays their own original music, and act. They are well known for their self-titled HBO television series. They are also independently successful with various acting roles in MiB3, Gentlemen Broncos, and Lord of the Rings. They are originally from New Zealand but have gained international notoriety with their hilarious and catchy tunes.

Since the end of their HBO program, they have been working independently from the group and achieving great success, solo. Jermaine Clement has appeared in various great roles, while Bret Mckenzie was busy earning an Oscar for his original song in The Muppets Movie.

The only thing that seemed to be able to bring them together was for a charitable cause. They decided to strap their axes on and pen a beautiful song with funds benefiting a New Zealand charity called "Cure Kids." The kicker is, the lyrics to the song are direct quotes from interviews they had with local children. Essentially they asked the children what they thought about sick children and what we could do to help. (Watch the video...TRUST ME)

The song is available for download in the U.S. using Amplifier. It is money well spent, so I urge you to buy instead of pirate. Why wouldn't you want to help the children?

Make sure to check out their other work, if you enjoyed this.
