Chelsea Vs. Juventus (UEFA C.L.)

What a rollercoaster!

I've been watching European soccer for a few years and since then have been a loyal Chelsea FC fan. For a long time I had seen them blow opportunity after opportunity. When they acquired Fernando Torres from Liverpool, I was elated. I thought "Here we go! Now no one can stop us." Obviously, I was wrong. It took a little longer for The Blues to dominate. Come the 2011-2012 season, and they are FA Cup and Champion's League champions! Finally...bragging rights!

So, now it's the 2012, major changes have been made. Di Matteo was brought back as official coach, DidierDrogba is gone along, with many other key players, and we picked up some fresh faces. I thought this would affect The Blues negatively, but it seems as though they are playing better than ever. They are 1st, so far, in the Barclays Premier League and are back in the UEFA Champion's League.

Today, I was fortunate to catch the Chelsea/Juventus C.L. game since: 1) It was airing here in the U.S., and 2) I was out of class. I was excited and thought we would breeze through it. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Juventus tied the game at  2-2 with a late goal in the 81' minute. Now, even though they eventually tied it, our 2 goals were pretty much close to a religious experience. Oscar, the 21 year old midfielder started his first game with the team and did not disappoint. He was able to score a fantastic goal in the 32' minute, then followed that up with a marvelous curve into the back of the net 2 minutes later. A sight that needs to be witnessed.

If this young man can keep this intensity and determination, then we could go all the way again this year. We just need Torres to be more consistent...and Terry needs to stop messing around and focus on soccer.
